As DU SOL admit cards finally started appearing online, a different kind of confusion quickly began spreading among second semester students. While some students managed to download their hall tickets within minutes, many others are still stuck trying to figure out which login method is actually working.
For a large number of students, the issue is no longer just about the admit card being released. The real problem now is understanding which details need to be entered, which portal is functioning properly, and why the hall ticket is appearing for some students but not for others.
And with exams getting closer, that uncertainty is becoming stressful for many learners.

Multiple Login Options Have Created Confusion
One thing many students may overlook is that DU SOL currently has different ways through which users are attempting to access their hall tickets.
Some students are trying:
- SOL Roll Number + Barcode
- Control Number login
- Alternate admit card links
- Student dashboard login
Because of this, many second semester students are now repeatedly switching between portals after hearing different advice from classmates, Telegram groups, YouTube videos, and student pages.
Interestingly, several students initially believed only one login method was valid. But after repeated failures, many started trying alternate options.
That is where the confusion has grown even more.
Control Number vs Barcode: Students Are Still Unsure
A major point of uncertainty involves the control number.
According to recent student guidance, some second semester candidates may need to use their control number similarly to a barcode while accessing the admit card portal.
However, not every student fully understands:
- where to find the control number
- whether it works for all batches
- whether it replaces the barcode entirely
- or whether both details are needed together
As a result, many students are entering details multiple times and still seeing blank pages or failed results.
This has become a growing concern especially among newer students who are accessing the SOL examination system for the first time.
Some Students Are Getting Hall Tickets Instantly, Others Are Not
What is making the situation more frustrating is the inconsistency.
Some students report that the admit card appears immediately after entering the required details. Others say the same method shows nothing at all.
That difference is creating even more doubt among students because many are now wondering:
- Is the portal broken?
- Is their registration incomplete?
- Is their admit card not generated yet?
- Or is the website simply overloaded?
At the moment, it appears that server load and portal instability may also be contributing to the issue.
Website Traffic Could Be Affecting Results
This is where things become important.
Whenever major university portals release admit cards, thousands of students try accessing the website at nearly the same time. Slow loading pages, login delays, and temporary errors become fairly common during these periods.
Some students also reported that one login link was opening while another was not responding properly.
That has led many users to continuously refresh the page or switch browsers repeatedly, hoping the portal eventually works.
In many cases, the issue may not be with the student’s credentials at all.
What Second Semester Students Should Try
Students who are still unable to access their hall ticket are currently being advised to:
- Double-check their roll number carefully
- Use the “Know Your Barcode” option if needed
- Try both available login methods
- Retry after some time if the portal is slow
- Avoid entering incorrect details repeatedly
One important detail is now drawing attention among users. Sometimes the admit card may not appear instantly because the server itself is under heavy pressure.
For that reason, students are being encouraged not to panic immediately if the page fails once.
Anxiety Is Increasing Because Exams Are Near
The timing of these login problems is also adding pressure.
Many students are already focused on revision, exam centre planning, travel arrangements, and subject preparation. When the hall ticket itself becomes difficult to access, stress levels naturally rise.
This is especially true for second semester students who are still relatively new to the university examination process.
Across student communities, discussions are now less about whether the admit card has been released — and more about which method is finally working.
What Students Should Expect Next
Over the next few hours and days, more students will likely continue trying different login routes until the portal stabilizes fully.
As traffic reduces, many of the temporary access issues may gradually become easier to resolve. At the same time, students are expected to keep closely monitoring official SOL links and updates.
For now, the biggest challenge for many second semester students is not finding the admit card page itself — it is figuring out which login method finally lets them through.
