The current datesheet is tentative.

The official DU Examination Branch has marked the December/January 2026–27 timetable as “Tentative Datesheet” and has advised students to check it regularly for revisions.

There is also no single PDF containing every Semester 3 SOL paper. DU has separated the timetable into different programme and paper-category documents, which means your main subject, GE, AEC, SEC or VAC paper may appear in different PDFs.

This guide explains the current Semester 3 schedule, major programme-wise dates, timings, how to download the correct PDF and how students can avoid missing a paper.

DU SOL 3rd Semester Datesheet 2026-27: Latest Update

The University of Delhi has launched the official December/January 2026–27 datesheet portal.

At present, the portal contains 31 undergraduate datesheet categories under the current examination cycle. These include dedicated SOL datesheets as well as categories where SOL students are covered together with Regular or NCWEB students.

Under the NEP-UGCF-2022 framework, the portal currently includes:

  • B.A. (Hons) — Regular & SOL
  • B.Com (Prog) — Regular, NCWEB & SOL
  • B.A. (Prog) — SOL
  • B.Com (Hons) — SOL
  • Generic Elective (GE)
  • Ability Enhancement Course (AEC)
  • Skill Enhancement Course (SEC)
  • Value Addition Course (VAC)

and other programme categories.

This is why checking only one datesheet can leave you with an incomplete examination schedule.

Is the DU SOL 3rd Semester Datesheet Final?

No.

The University’s current page clearly labels the timetable as Tentative and tells students to keep checking for revisions.

That means the present schedule is useful for planning your studies, but students should not assume that every date is permanently fixed.

Whenever DU publishes a revised or final datesheet, students should follow the latest official version.

When Do DU SOL 3rd Semester Exams Start?

There is no single starting date for every SOL Semester 3 student.

The answer depends on your programme and your paper.

For example, the current B.A. (Hons) datesheet has Semester 3 core papers beginning on 8 December 2026, while B.Com Programme has its first listed Semester 3 core paper on the same date but in a different session.

B.A. Programme and B.Com (Hons)-SOL follow their own programme-specific schedules.

So the correct approach is:

Programme → Paper → Semester → Date → Time

rather than simply searching for “Semester 3 exam date.”

DU SOL B.A. (Hons) 3rd Semester Datesheet 2026

The official B.A. (Hons) datesheet covers Part 1, 2, 3 and 4, corresponding to Semesters I, III, V and VII, and specifically includes SOL students along with Regular students. The current document is marked tentative and the examination commencement timing is 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

For Semester 3, the current schedule includes important core-paper dates such as:

Date Semester Example papers
8 December 2026 3 Discipline Specific Core-7
10 December 2026 3 Discipline Specific Core-8
15 December 2026 3 Discipline Specific Core-9

The official PDF shows these dates for subjects including English, Economics, History, Political Science, Psychology, Journalism and several other disciplines.

For example, Political Science students have Ancient and Medieval Indian Political Thought listed on 8 December, Political Theory: Concepts and Debates on 10 December and Constitutional Government and Democracy in India on 15 December.

Important

These dates are for the corresponding papers, not a statement that every B.A. (Hons) Semester 3 student has exactly three examinations on those dates.

Your own paper code and subject should be checked in the PDF.

DU SOL B.Com Programme 3rd Semester Datesheet 2026

B.Com Programme students have a separate B.Com (Prog) datesheet under NEP-UGCF-2022.

The official PDF explicitly covers Regular, NCWEB and SOL students, and its examination sessions are shown separately.

For Semester 3, the current core-paper schedule includes:

Date Paper Time
8 December 2026 Business Statistics 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
10 December 2026 Financial Management 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
15 December 2026 Principles of Marketing 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM

These dates and timings are directly listed in the current official B.Com Programme datesheet.

So B.Com Programme students should use the B.Com (Prog) PDF rather than the B.Com (Hons)-SOL timetable.

DU SOL B.A. Programme 3rd Semester Datesheet 2026-27

B.A. Programme SOL students have their own dedicated datesheet.

The current official document is titled B.A. (Prog)-SOL — December/January 2026–27 and covers Semesters I, III, V and VII under NEP-UGCF-2022. It is also marked tentative.

One of the first major Semester 3 entries in this timetable is the Generic Elective examination on 13 December 2026.

The current PDF shows Semester 3 GE papers on 13 December in both:

9:30 AM to 12:30 PM

and

2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

depending on the paper/session.

Semester 3 non-major papers are then scheduled on later dates, including 27 December 2026 and 30 December 2026, again with separate morning/evening sessions depending on the paper.

This is a good example of why B.A. Programme students should not try to use a single “Semester 3 starting date.”

DU SOL B.Com (Hons) 3rd Semester Datesheet 2026-27

B.Com (Hons)-SOL also has a separate official datesheet.

The current document covers Semesters I, III, V and VII and is specifically listed under B.Com (Hons)-SOL.

For Semester 3, some of the important current core-paper dates are:

Date Semester 3 paper Time
27 December 2026 Business Mathematics 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
30 December 2026 Financial Management 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
2 January 2027 Principles of Marketing 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM

These entries are explicitly shown in the current B.Com (Hons)-SOL PDF.

So B.Com (Hons) Semester 3 students need to remember that at least some of their examinations extend into January 2027.

DU SOL 3rd Semester GE Exam Date 2026

Your Generic Elective (GE) may not be listed in your main programme datesheet.

DU has published a separate GE timetable for NEP-UGCF-2022.

For Semester 3, the current GE timetable has papers scheduled on 22 December 2026.

The important point is that the GE PDF contains both morning and evening sessions, so students should not assume that everyone appearing for GE will have the same timing.

Your exact GE subject and paper code should be checked in the official PDF.

DU SOL 3rd Semester AEC Exam Date 2026

The Ability Enhancement Course (AEC) also has a separate datesheet.

For Semester 3, the current AEC timetable contains an examination date of:

28 December 2026

with a 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM morning session for the papers listed in that section.

However, because the AEC document contains multiple paper categories and sessions, students should confirm their particular paper before assuming the timing.

DU SOL 3rd Semester SEC Exam Date 2026

The Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) is another separate datesheet.

There is an important correction to some information circulating online: the current official SEC PDF lists Semester 3 SEC papers on 19 December 2026, not 29 December.

The Semester 3 entries shown in the current document are in the 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM evening session.

This is exactly why students should use the latest official PDF instead of relying on an older video or screenshot.

DU SOL 3rd Semester VAC Exam Date 2026

The Value Addition Course (VAC) has its own datesheet as well.

The current VAC PDF lists Semester 3 VAC papers on:

21 December 2026

The Semester 3 entries are shown in the 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM evening session.

Again, students should match their subject and paper code before finalising the date in their study planner.

Why Does DU Have So Many Different Datesheets?

This is probably the most confusing part of the entire process.

A Semester 3 student may have several different types of papers.

For example:

Discipline/Core paper

Generic Elective (GE)

Ability Enhancement Course (AEC)

Skill Enhancement Course (SEC)

Value Addition Course (VAC)

DU has separated several of these into different official PDFs. The datesheet portal therefore provides individual links for the programme as well as common paper categories.

That means downloading one PDF and assuming “this is my complete Semester 3 timetable” can be a mistake.

How to Check Your Exact DU SOL 3rd Semester Exam Date

The safest method is very simple.

Step 1: Open the official DU datesheet portal

Go to the University’s December/January 2026–27 examination datesheet page.

DU December/January 2026–27 Datesheet Portal

Step 2: Identify your academic framework

For the current new batches, look under:

NEP-UGCF-2022

The same portal also has a separate CBCS-LOCF-SOL section for applicable older batches.

Step 3: Select your programme

For example:

  • B.A. (Hons)
  • B.A. (Prog)-SOL
  • B.Com (Hons)-SOL
  • B.Com (Prog)

Step 4: Check your common papers

After checking your main programme paper, check whether you also have a:

  • GE
  • AEC
  • SEC
  • VAC

Step 5: Search for your paper

Use:

Command + F on Mac

or

Ctrl + F on Windows.

Search either the subject name or, preferably, the unique paper code.

How to Read the Datesheet Correctly

When you find your paper, do not look only at the date.

Check all of these:

Date

When is the examination?

Start time

When does the paper begin?

Semester

Does the row actually say Semester 3?

Paper code

Does it match your examination form?

Paper description

Is it actually your subject?

This becomes particularly important in large PDFs such as the GE datesheet, which contains dozens of pages and many different subjects.

Morning and Evening Sessions: Do Not Assume Your Timing

DU SOL Semester 3 examinations are not all conducted in one universal time slot.

For example:

  • B.A. (Hons) core papers are currently listed in the 9:30 AM–12:30 PM window.
  • B.Com Programme core papers shown in the current timetable use the 2:30 PM–5:30 PM evening session.
  • B.A. Programme papers can appear in either morning or evening sessions depending on the paper.
  • SEC and VAC have their own session arrangements.

Therefore, never rely on a sentence such as “SOL Semester 3 exams are in the morning” or “SOL exams are in the evening.”

Your individual paper decides the applicable timing.

December 2026 or January 2027: When Are the Exams?

Both months matter.

Many Semester 3 examinations are scheduled in December 2026, but some papers continue into January 2027.

B.Com (Hons)-SOL provides a clear example: the current Semester 3 schedule includes Principles of Marketing on 2 January 2027.

So students should plan for the complete December 2026–January 2027 examination window rather than assuming that everything finishes in December.

What About the Examination Form?

The datesheet tells you when the University plans to conduct a paper.

It does not replace the examination-form process.

The DU Examination Wing has already published a notification covering UG/PG Semester I, III, V, VII and IX students of Regular, NCWEB and SOL for the December/January 2026–27 session.

Students should therefore make sure that the applicable examination-form process has been completed before focusing entirely on the timetable.

What About the Exam Centre?

The datesheet tells you the date and timing of the paper.

It does not by itself establish the examination centre assigned to a particular student.

For the centre, students should follow the official examination admission ticket/hall-ticket and related DU/SOL instructions when those details are issued.

Do not assume that your centre will be the same as your friend’s simply because you are studying the same course.

What If Your Subject Is Missing?

Do not panic immediately.

First check whether your paper is in another PDF.

For example, your main programme may be listed in one document while your GE or AEC appears in a separate paper-category document. The official portal deliberately separates these categories.

Then check the paper code from your examination form.

If the code still cannot be found, check the latest official notice or contact the appropriate DU/SOL support channel.

What If DU Changes the Date Later?

That is possible because the current timetable is tentative.

The official page itself tells students to check the datesheet regularly for revisions.

So, do not build your entire preparation around an old screenshot.

A better system is:

Download → Plan → Check for revisions → Update your plan

You can use the current schedule immediately while continuing to monitor the official page.

How Students Should Use the Datesheet for Preparation

Getting the datesheet is only useful when you convert it into a study plan.

Take your own paper list and write:

Paper Exam Date Session Preparation Status
Paper 1 Date Morning/Evening Not started
Paper 2 Date Morning/Evening In progress
Paper 3 Date Morning/Evening Revision
GE Date Morning/Evening Not started
AEC/SEC/VAC Date Morning/Evening Revision

Now you can see which subjects need attention first.

Start with the earliest paper

The subject coming first should not be left until the last week.

Look at the gaps between exams

A three-day gap requires a different revision strategy from a ten-day gap.

Don’t ignore smaller papers

GE, AEC, SEC and VAC can easily get overlooked because students focus heavily on their core subjects.

Keep one final revision window

Try to finish your first full preparation before the last stretch.

The final days are much more useful for revision and question practice than for learning an entire subject from scratch.

Important Mistakes to Avoid

Checking only one datesheet

Your GE/AEC/SEC/VAC may be somewhere else.

Using the wrong programme

B.A. Programme and B.A. (Hons) are not interchangeable.

Looking only at the date

Check the session and paper code too.

Assuming all Semester 3 exams are in December

Some papers continue into January 2027.

Treating the tentative timetable as final

DU can issue revisions.

Trusting an old YouTube screenshot

The official live datesheet portal is the better reference.

Final Takeaway

The DU SOL 3rd Semester Datesheet 2026-27 has been released, but students should understand that the current schedule is tentative and that DU has divided the timetable across programme-specific and paper-category PDFs.

For example, the current B.A. (Hons) Semester 3 core schedule begins on 8 December 2026, B.Com Programme has its first listed Semester 3 core paper on 8 December, B.A. Programme has Semester 3 GE papers from 13 December, and B.Com (Hons)-SOL has core papers continuing into 2 January 2027.

The important part is therefore not just knowing a single “Semester 3 exam date.”

You need to identify your:

Programme → Paper → Semester → Paper Code → Date → Timing

Also remember to check your GE, AEC, SEC and VAC separately where applicable.

And one final point: because the current timetable is tentative, keep checking the official DU datesheet portal for revisions before your examinations.
