Internal Assessment Process Explained
If you’re in DU SOL (4th or 6th semester), here’s the situation—your internal assessment cycle has started, but many students are still confused about mock tests, real assessments, and the process.
This breaks it down cleanly so you don’t mess it up.
What Has Started (Important Dates)
- Mock Assessment Start Date: 4 May 2026
- Internal Assessment (Actual) Start: 6 May 2026
- Last Date: 12 May 2026
- Applicable Courses: B.A. Program, B.Com, and other SOL courses (Sem 4 & 6)
Mock tests are already live. Real assessments start from 6 May.
Get:
- Exam & assignment alerts
- Result and notice updates
- Study guides & PDFs
- Important student information
Where You Have to Go
All assessments (mock + actual) will happen on:
- Pragyan Portal:
pragyan.oldcdu.ac.in
This is the official DU SOL internal assessment portal.
How to Login (Do This Properly)
You don’t need to overthink this. Just follow:
- Enter SOL Roll Number or Email
- Enter Barcode / Password
- If stuck → reset password
Once logged in, you’ll see your subjects and assessments dashboard
Mock Assessment — What It Actually Is
Mock test is practice, not evaluation.
Here’s what matters:
- It is not compulsory
- You get no marks
- It is just to understand:
- Interface
- Question pattern
- Time pressure
Still, skipping it is a mistake. It reduces errors in the real test.
How Mock Test Works
When you start it:
- Time limit: ~5 minutes (demo)
- Questions: Around 10 (sample)
- Format: MCQs (4 options)
- Language option: Hindi / English switch available
Process:
- Click Start Assessment
- Accept instructions
- Answer questions
- Click Submit
You can attempt it multiple times.
Internal Assessment (Real One) — What Actually Matters
This is where marks come in.
- Starts: 6 May
- Ends: 12 May
- Same portal, same process
- But this time:
- Marks will be counted
- You get limited attempts (don’t take risks)
Key Rules You Should Not Ignore
- Use stable internet
- Prefer laptop over phone
- Use Google Chrome
- Don’t refresh randomly
- Submit only after checking answers
Common Mistakes Students Make
Avoid these:
- Skipping mock test → then panicking in real test
- Logging in at last day → server issues
- Not checking submission confirmation
- Guessing answers randomly without reading
Straight Reality
This is not difficult. But careless students lose marks here.
If you treat this casually, you’ll regret it during final results.
What You Should Do Right Now
- Go to portal today
- Give at least 1–2 mock tests
- Understand interface fully
- Be ready before 6 May
