And this latest notice has already started creating discussion among students who were planning to attend weekend PCP classes before exams. --- The School of Open Learning (SOL), under the University of Delhi, has officially announced that Academic Counselling Sessions (PCP Classes) for undergraduate courses will remain suspended on May 16 and May 17, 2026. The reason behind the suspension is the ongoing semester examinations of the University of Delhi. But for distance learning students, especially those balancing jobs, travel, family responsibilities, or self-study, weekend PCP sessions often become one of the few structured academic support systems available during exam season. That is why this update is getting attention. --- ## Students Were Depending on These Weekend Sessions One thing many readers may overlook is how important weekend PCP classes become close to exams. A large number of SOL students rely on these sessions for: * revision support * last-minute doubt solving * exam guidance * subject clarification * study momentum With exams approaching, some students were already preparing schedules around these weekend classes. The sudden pause has now left many trying to reorganize their preparation plans. Interestingly, several students initially misunderstood the notice and assumed all regional centres might remain completely closed during those dates. --- However, the official notice specifically mentions that PCP classes for undergraduate courses will remain suspended on May 16 and 17 due to semester examinations. --- ## The Timing Is What’s Drawing Attention The timing of this notice is becoming part of the conversation. This is happening exactly when students are already: * checking exam schedules repeatedly * waiting for portal updates * preparing admit cards * managing practical exams * dealing with revision pressure In recent days, DU SOL students have been closely following multiple academic updates together, and that overlap is adding to the confusion for some. One important detail now being discussed is that psychology practical examinations for B.A. (Hons.) Psychology and B.A. Programme Psychology Semester IV/VI students will be conducted online through the Pragyan Portal. The university has also clarified that no offline viva will be held this time. That particular line has quickly become one of the most noticed parts of the recent notices. --- ## Online Practicals Are Creating a Different Kind of Anxiety While some students see online practical exams as more convenient, others are now worried about technical issues and portal-related problems. Pragyan Portal discussions have already started appearing across student groups because many students fear: * login issues * schedule confusion * internet disruptions * last-minute access problems This is where the situation becomes more than just a routine university update. For students already under exam pressure, even small academic changes can affect preparation rhythm and confidence levels. Several students are now double-checking: * practical schedules * portal instructions * PCP class updates * exam dates * centre-related information That repeated checking behavior is becoming increasingly common during this phase of the semester. --- ## No Offline Viva This Time Another detail drawing strong interest is the university’s decision to not conduct offline viva examinations for psychology practicals this semester. According to the notice, psychology practical exams will take place online through the Pragyan Portal as per the allotted schedule. For some students, this removes the stress of physical viva sessions and travel. But for others, it raises new questions around: * practical format * online interaction * evaluation methods * technical requirements This uncertainty is why many students are continuing to monitor updates closely. --- ## What Students Should Know Right Now As per the official notice: * PCP classes for undergraduate courses will remain suspended on May 16 and 17, 2026 * The suspension applies to Regional Centres and Learning Support Centres * The reason is the University of Delhi semester examinations * Psychology practical exams for Semester IV/VI students will be conducted online through Pragyan Portal * No offline viva will be held for these psychology practicals this time At the moment, students are being advised to follow their respective schedules carefully and continue checking official SOL updates regularly.
