DU SOL 2nd Semester 2026: Exam Date, Subjects, Classes, Books & ID Card (Complete Breakdown)
You’ve just finished 1st semester exams.
Now you’re in 2nd semester — and most students are already confused.
-
What are my subjects?
-
When are exams?

-
Do I need new books or ID card?
-
Are classes started or not?
Here is everything you actually need to know.
1. Subjects & Syllabus (No New Form Needed)
First thing clear:
You don’t need to select subjects again.
-
Your 2nd semester subjects were already chosen during admission
-
You can check them in your fee receipt / admission details
Syllabus:
-
Available on official DU SOL website
-
Same pattern as DU structure
-
No hidden changes
Most students ignore syllabus till last month — that’s why they struggle.
2. DU SOL 2nd Semester Exam Date 2026
Expected Timeline:
-
Exams start: Around 7 May 2026
-
Exams continue till: June 2026
This follows the usual SOL pattern:
-
Slight delay compared to regular DU
-
Spread across multiple weeks
Do not wait for last-minute notice.
Assume May is your target.
3. Classes Update (Reality Check)
Current Status:
-
Classes are running in offline mode
-
Locations include:
-
Keshav Puram center
-
Tahirpur center
-
Important:
-
Classes are not compulsory
-
That’s why most students don’t attend
And that’s exactly why most end up with ER.
Online classes may start later, but currently:
-
Focus is on offline sessions
4. Study Material / Books (Latest Update)
Two cases:
Case 1: Already Received Books
-
Many students got both semesters’ books together
-
No action needed
Case 2: Not Received Yet
-
Books are being sent via post
-
You don’t need to visit anywhere
-
Delivery happens gradually
5. Assessment System (What You Should Know)
Even if you ignore everything else, don’t ignore this:
-
Internal assessment + theory both matter
-
Assignments / practical components may be included
-
Marks are not based only on final exam
Most SOL students realize this too late.
6. ID Card Rule (No Confusion)
-
You do NOT get a new ID card for 2nd semester
-
The same ID card is valid for all semesters
Only exception:
-
If you change details (like address), then update may be needed
Otherwise:
-
Use the same ID throughout your course
7. What Most Students Are Doing Right Now (Truth)
-
Not studying
-
Waiting for exams to come closer
-
Planning to study 15–20 days before
This is the standard SOL cycle.
And this is exactly why:
-
Backlogs happen
-
Results stay average
What You Should Do Instead
1. Identify Subjects Today
Don’t wait. Check your fee receipt.
2. Start Light Study Now
Even 1–2 hours daily is enough at this stage.
3. Track Exam Month (May)
Your timeline is already fixed.
4. Use Classes Smartly
Even if not regular, attend selectively.
Final Reality
DU SOL gives freedom.
Most students convert that into laziness.
-
No pressure → No discipline
-
No discipline → Last-minute panic
-
Panic → ER/backlogs
If you break this pattern now, you stay ahead.
Summary
-
Subjects already selected
-
Exams from May to June 2026
-
Classes running (offline)
-
Books arriving via post
-
Same ID card valid
