Growing Anxiety Among CA Students as Exam Dates Come Closer

For thousands of CA aspirants across India, May has now entered the phase where preparation slowly turns into pressure. With the next round of ICAI exams approaching rapidly, many students are beginning to feel the emotional weight of the final days before examination season officially begins.

Search interest around revision strategies, last-minute preparation, exam hall rules, and “how to revise CA syllabus fast” has noticeably increased in recent days. For many students, especially those appearing for CA Foundation for the first time, the atmosphere has started feeling intense.

And with exam dates now extremely close, conversations among students are becoming more serious.

One important detail now drawing attention is how little time many students feel they still have left.

The ICAI has scheduled the CA Foundation May 2026 examinations for May 14, 16, 18, and 20, 2026. Papers 1 and 2 will be conducted from 2 PM to 5 PM IST, while Papers 3 and 4 will take place from 2 PM to 4 PM IST.

For many aspirants, this final one-week window has become mentally challenging rather than academically difficult.

Some students are still trying to complete revisions. Others are now focusing only on mock tests and RTPs. Many are also struggling with consistency after months of preparation fatigue.

Interestingly, this is the phase where even well-prepared students often begin doubting themselves.

The CA journey is already known for its demanding syllabus and high-pressure environment. But as exam dates come closer, even small uncertainties start feeling bigger. Students frequently discuss whether their revision is enough, whether important chapters are being missed, or whether they are attempting too many resources at once.

This growing anxiety is especially visible among first-attempt candidates.

Many students preparing for CA Foundation are currently balancing multiple emotions together — fear of failure, pressure from family expectations, uncertainty about paper difficulty, and exhaustion from long study schedules. On social platforms and student communities, discussions around stress, sleep cycles, concentration issues, and revision planning have become increasingly common.

This is where things become important.

At this stage, many experienced mentors advise students to avoid starting entirely new concepts unless absolutely necessary. The final days are often considered more effective for strengthening retention, improving writing speed, revising formulas, practicing MCQs, and maintaining mental stability.

Several students also appear confused about the exact examination timings.

According to the official schedule, CA Foundation Papers 1 and 2 will run for three hours from 2 PM to 5 PM IST. Meanwhile, Papers 3 and 4 will conclude earlier at 4 PM IST.

Meanwhile, CA Intermediate students are already in the middle of the examination cycle after the revised schedule announced by ICAI earlier this year.

The ICAI rescheduled the CA Intermediate May 2026 exams to begin from May 5, 2026. Group I examinations are being held on May 5, 7, and 9, while Group II exams are scheduled for May 11, 13, and 15. All Intermediate papers are being conducted from 2 PM to 5 PM IST.

One thing many students may overlook is how mentally different the final revision phase feels compared to earlier preparation months.

During the early months, students usually focus on syllabus completion. But in the final week, preparation becomes more psychological. Confidence fluctuations become common. Productivity often drops because of stress. Even students studying long hours sometimes feel they are “not doing enough.”

That feeling has become increasingly relatable among CA aspirants right now.

At the same time, many students are now shifting focus toward practical exam strategy rather than simply increasing study hours. Topics like time management inside the exam hall, presentation quality, question selection, and revision efficiency are gaining more attention as the countdown continues.

For ICAI aspirants, these final days are likely to remain emotionally intense.

Still, experienced candidates often say that this phase passes faster than expected once exams actually begin. For now, students across Foundation and Intermediate levels are entering the final stretch — a period filled with revision pressure, self-doubt, late-night study sessions, and constant discussions about preparation status.

With CA Foundation exams beginning from May 14, attention among students is expected to rise even further over the coming days as aspirants continue preparing for one of the most important stages of their academic journey.
